The joys of being sick.

For the past 36 hours, I have been in the throes of some nasty, ass-kicking illness. Fever, chills, dizziness. As a fav sports writer puts it, Not Good Times. Bad Times.

I remember being extremely sick as a kid. It seemed once or twice a year the flu hit, and I'd be laid out for a week. But minus not feeling well, being sick had it's advatages. Unlimited supply of popcicles. Endless amounts of quality time with the legos. And of course, cartoons aplenty.

But now, as an adult? Boredom!!! 300+ channels on TV, and nothing on. I mean, how many times can you watch the same SportCenter? And sure, the Internet provides an occasional break, but most of my regular sites involve reading more weighty subjects. Not exactly a good match when you are excited about keeping down a bowl of white rice.

At least the World Series of Poker 2002 is on ESPN2 this afternoon. Here's the thing, if you're at the table for 30 minutes.....
