Shouting into the Storm Rantings, ramblings, observations and musings from the insipid to the sublime

So, let me get this straight. According to the Bush Administration, smoking pot leads to terrorism and teenagers shooting each other.
Therefor, you shouldn't smoke pot.

But, wait a second, adults drink perfectly legal alcohol, and then shoot their wives. What's the difference?

And, you know, now that I think about it, money that we spend on foreign oil gets channeled to terrorism groups in Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries. But you don't see the Bush Administration pointing that out, do you? Won't ever see that on television, right?

Except now in some markets you will.

I'm not a big fan of the founder of this group. Arianna Huffington is a self-centered socialite twit with more opinions than facts to back them up. She made a name for herself by being the wife of a candidate for governor in California, and then by being on the talking head shows during the impeachment mess. But on this one, she's putting her mouth and her name recognition to good use. The spots are wickedly solid satire against those insipid "This is Jenny. This is the family that was slaughtered because of the pot Jenny purchased" ads the Bush Administration has been pimping. I for one can't wait to see these on TV here in the DC area. The irony is just too precious.
