Yahoo! News - Californians Owe Homes, Lives to Inmates
Too bad these convicts aren't allowed to vote for severals years after their sentence is up. It's an ugly little secret in this country. We have this great belief that once you've "Paid Your Debt to Society", the record is clean. But in many cases, it is not. I'm not sure if California has a similar law, but in Massachusetts, they passed a ballot initiative that stated inmates could not vote for the first 5 years out of the clink.
But fear not - they'll help save your precious McMansion from a wildfire.
