Yahoo! News - White House Changes Story on Bush Plane Incident

This is a perfect example of how the Bush White House does things. Now, I will admit, it is not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things. But here's what they do:

- Circulate a story as gospel truth that plays up to the great danger and glory of Mr. Bush
- When someone leaks a fact that, well, that isn't what really happened, start spinning.
- When it becomes crystal clear that the event either never happened, or it was nothing like what was originally told, just change the story, and deny that the original story was ever spun.
- Repeat as necessary

And this has been done with everything the administration does. The "Mission Accomplished" banner, the nuclear claims against Iraq, the stories about how Bush handled some events around 9/11. It is a picture of an administration that wants to make itself look good, and panders to the most cynical aspects of the political game.
