Shouting into the Storm Rantings, ramblings, observations and musings from the insipid to the sublime

And we're live from Dublin

Greetings from Dublin. We're here, a little ragged. Things with the airlines were a mess - American Airlines changed their schedule sometime since we booked our flight. Our leisurely 2 hour layover at Chicago was cut down to 50 minutes. That is barely enough time to get off the plane, run to the tram, take the tram to the international terminal, go through security again, and run to the gate. To top that off, they couldn't guarantee that our luggage would make the transfer. When we politely pointed out that seemed a little problematic, both the girl working check-in and the manager working the entire check-in area gave us attitude. Basically, it was "Well, too bad, not our problem." We will never fly American again.

Luckily, we made our flight with a full on sprint, and our luggage actually arrived along with us. The rental car is *tiny*. Driving on the wrong side of the road wasn't too bad. Traffic was no worse than downtown Boston.

Since we can't check in to the hotel until 2 pm, we're wandering around the Grafton Street and St. Stephen's Green area. Apparently today is European Union Day. Yay, European Union! We may jump on a double-decker bus and mindlessly ride around the city. It'll be an early night, that's for sure.
